96 Mercantile?

I am looking for a source for cotton pillow ticking, and I was told that 96 Mercantile had it.

I have tried to google it, but I cannot find a link for 96 Mercantile.

Maybe I got the name wrong?

Any help or other source for pillow ticking appreciated.

I have been able to find it at Joann fabric and also Hobby Lobby.

 You guys need to come to the realization that virtually nobody stuffs pillows with feathers anymore, so almost nobody make real pillow ticking anymore either. Material tightly woven enough to work well for patching nowadays is either specifically made as bullet patching, or is most likely a rugged, tightly woven material, used in some commercial application. Restaurant linen, and chef’s aprons, and jackets come to mind. The last three batches of “pillow ticking” I bought from the fabric stores was either not tightly woven enough, ( 2 examples) or not all cotton as advertised, ( 1 example).

Jo Ann 100% cotton blue ticking is tightly woven, .015” thick with tightly compressed gauge, and especially once washed and dried makes excellent patching with virtually no shine through and that hasn’t shown any tearing at all. I could recover my patches and probably reuse them. 1” at 50 with my .40. I get it on sale for a few bucks a yard. Anyone paying for the ready made patching (always at a great markup) is getting fleeced.

I've found ticking at Jo Ann fabrics and Wal-Mart. You have to pay close attention to what you're buying. Most of the made in china stuff is very loose weave and not usable as patch material. I've gotten tired of searching and have switched to mostly Denims of various weights.

One material Jo-Anne's sells is Denim by the ounce weight,. ie: 8, 10, 11, 12, 14.
While in Arizona a few years back, I went into the Jo-annes in Yuma and they had several of these 'weights'.
I find the 8oz a bit light, but the 10 ounce shoots well in every one of my rifles and the smoothbore, with appropriate ball diameters.
I use the 12 and 14 ounce in my .69, again, with appropriate ball diameters.

When I first started shooting muzzle loader's pillow tick and denim was what most people used. Today I buy all cotton pillow tick and wash out the sizing, tear it in 1 and 1/2 inch wide strips. Roll up the strips and put a period correct rubber band around them for storage, I still use a spit patch for lube.
