This man has a skill set that is as rare as a football bat.I have made 2 small flintlocks
on TRS external parts and had to fabricate the mechanism and the 3 springs.
It is a real pleasure to see such remarkable ability from any part of the world and no
doubt there are others who feel this way as well.

Gunmaker.
All my work is 40% of full scale.

Barrel lenght 14,5 inch
Total lenght 21,75 inch

Hawkeye,
No, because I live in Holland, I am not allowed to make rifles on full scale.

Bob Roller,
After 7 years I understand a little bit of how a flintlock and a rifle works together.
Maybe it is a pity that there is no gunbuilding school in Holland.
I had to find out everything myself, but with a lot of help from everybody on ALR.

Adrie, your skill set is such that you could teach that type of class to your fellow Dutchmen/women.

You might try setting up a small class, like 2-6 people.  Advise what tools they would need for themselves.  Then you supply the building materials.  If you use a lathe and such, everyone would benefit by seeing how to set up the machines, and how to run them.

Wouldn't be easy, but then, most things worth while are worth some hard work.  Guys  on ALR here might be able to help you with curriculum and other important things.  I used to teach people to fly airplanes and gliders, so I know the basics of teaching, but for me it was always one on one.  Hard to cram 6 or 8 people into the front seat of a sailplane.

I already found my students, because I only make small work!

Adrie, I am the 2nd in from the left.  And proud to be a student of yours!

Just curious - what caliber are your firearms, and are they rifled, or smooth bore?  Would love to make a .17 caliber, so I could use my airgun lead pellets.  Probably about 3 or 4 grains of Triple Fg.  No lathe though, so a whole lot of filing.

Craig,

The calibre is about .22.
Yes I rifled them all, only the Fowling rifles not, they are smooth bore.
A long time ago I asked Paul Hammler [Hammler Tools] if I could by a barrel from him.
He said ˙ou "you can make it yourself". He gave me a drawing of the rifling bench and the cutter.
I started with 5 grooves and later I made 7 grooves.
For the small rifles you can see 5 grooves better.

I didn't see this thread until the pictures you posted yesterday and I was astounded for a little while how a human being could have such huge hands.  You did a great job scaling the parts.

Interesting adjustable end, rifling head, Andrie.  Thanks for the pictures on barrel work.

Hello,
Finally I finished the Jaeger rifle on scale!
As I told you, the wood was not my best friend. I wanted more carving but this wood was not made for carving.
There are things that make me happy but some things not quite!
I show you the pictures.

This is beyond my comprehension as to how you can create something as amazing as this, and with no training as well! You are a rare treasure! Thank you for sharing your work. Just Gorgeous....
