Pronghorn (American Antelope)

Pronghorn horns consist of a keratin sheath with a bony core like cow and bison horn...my question:  are there any historic records of pronghorn powder horns? I'd like to make one especially if I could copy an original

Not sure on originals....but it wouldn't hold much powder...the cores are fairly small...

I recall seeing one with a spring loaded charger in the butt end of the horn.  Probably not an antique.  The cutter and tip don't offer much for storage or function.

The only historic example of using a pronghorn that I have seen was for a quirt handle.  I have cut sections out of the horn and added tops and bottoms to make priming flasks.
