The .32 I had was not a Rice bl. but had a 48" twist. Here's the muzzle which allowed loading a .019" to .023" patch without using a short starter.
No - you couldn't push it in with your thumb, but could, with choking up on the rod and pushing the ball and patch into the bore, then down with
the rifle's 5/16" hickory rod. Combinations used in this bore were .311" balls from a DC Lee mould as well as .320" balls from a Lee DC mould marked
.319". Note the patches used with both balls. Easy loading with water based lube or Track's Mink Oil soaked patches.
5 shots into a .45" hole using 20gr. 3F GOEX at 25 yards. This load shot 2 1/2" at 50 yards, not good enough for hunting squirrels at that range. 35gr. 3F GOEX put
5 into 1" at 50 yards, which is good enough for squirrels. 35gr. 3f also put 5 into a .45" hole at 25 yards, but maintained it's accuracy better at the longer
range.
