Today My Daughter and I have begun assembling her first rifle. She is building a 50 cal Chambers Little Fella kit and she's having a blast.

Wonderful Bonnie,
She may end up being an incredible artisan. Here is a link to a thread I did that may help you and Avery.

My best memories of my dad are the times we spent in his shop building things. Avery will never forget this and it's great she is interested in building her own. Also if she learns to shoot a flintlock at an early age she will be able to shoot any gun well. My dad gave me a replica 1851 Navy Colt when I was about 6 years old. I carried that thing everywhere on the farm and shot thousands of rounds through it. It tought me how to shoot a handgun.
