Anybody buying anything from the Morphy auction?

I bought the Albrecht marked German gun and the other one. I know it's a faked American rifle, but I just have a thing for these German guns. When I get them in hand I will see what I will do with the marked gun. Chances are I will probably just leave it alone, but I want to look it over really good and see what exactly has been done to it. I also got the 2 long barreled German guns (lot 3033). The lower gun intrigues me because it has trade furniture on it. I've had a few of these over the years that have had nearly identical furniture with identical engraving. I also picked up the 1777 model Brown Bess.

I bought the William Defibaugh Bedford rifle. My wife and I are driving down to pick it up tomorrow. I don't trust shipping those long skinny boxes.

Very nice. I tried to get that one. It should be a dandy. I love that it's dated!

I bought a very long musket from a Morphy auction once. The box they shipped it in was 12 inches square x 72" OAL. The rifle was wrapped in a very substantial amount of bubble wrap and surrounded by a amazing amount of large popcorn. It took me nearly one hour to get the thing unwrapped. I've had guns shipped to me by Julia's and Rock Island, but this packaging from Morphy's was hands down the best. I would not hesitate to have them ship to me in the future.

That Bess looks to have a very deep Storekeeper's stamp on the butt. The musket has a great un-messed with look.
