You made me laugh, Runar. A time or five in my life I was one of those drunken sailors!
Back in '66 when my A-4 attack squadron went to Vietnam, you would think that, being based in California, we would board an aircraft carrier in San Francisco or San Diego, but NO! We had to fly our stuff to Norfolk, Virginia, then sail the carrier across the Atlantic, across the Med, through the Suez Canal to the Red Sea, then Indian Ocean, etc., until we reached south-east Asia. And come back the same way. Out at sea for 60 to 98 days, yeah, I did become a drunken sailor.
That pistol, except for the corrosion, really looks in fair shape for almost 250 years old. And knowing your work, it probably won't be much older before you re-finish the stock, and remove all the corrosion from the lock and barrel. Shame about the top jaw and screw, but I have confidence it will not take you too long to make new ones for the pistol.
Will you be able to test fire it there in Norway? I am not familiar with the Norwegian laws concerning antique muzzle loading firearms. Keep us posted, as usual.
