Bag #41 - Second "Worn In Bag"
« on: June 12, 2021, 07:31:09 PM »
Here's another bag meant to look broken in, sort of like contemporary makers work to achieve on their stocks and metal.  3-4 ounce domestic cowhide, lined in 100% cotton canvas.  4-5 ounce cowhide straps.  Iron buckle.  Stiffener/strap anchor inside the top back.  Used same type of stretchy buckskin thong closure around the handmade German silver button (I did not make that button).  Bone button on reverse to reinforce the closure button.  Rolled top edge of buckskin.  A bit different pattern than the last one as I like each to be unique.  I hope you enjoy it.  God Bless,   Marc

Another dandy bag Marc…I really like the look you’re getting. Are you gonna have a table at the CLA this year?

Really like this bag Marc. The hand forged buckle and german silver button are nice details that really set it all off for me. Love to see such fine work, great job.

Hi Folks,

My sincere thanks for the nice comments.

Greg, no table planned for CLA as I do not have that many "ahead".  I'll be there though, and really look forward to seeing everyone.  The Knoxville show gave me a good dose of visiting while waiting for CLA.

Bob, the inventory has been going out about as fast as I can make them.  Of the last seven bags, all but this one had a home before I was done with them.

I don't work fast, so I may have one or two more before CLA.  Gainful employment cuts into my bag making time.  ;)

God bless, and best wishes to all,   Marc

Really nice details again Marc.  That simple bag style seems more practical if fishing out a small caliber ball out of the bottom of the bag.  Thanks for sharing!

Cannot add much except to agree that you do a wonderful job with the "worn-in" appearance in addition to the exceptional craftsmanship.

Hey capgun, I thought the only technique I owned was how to ruin good hides!     ;)

This bag is only the second one I have tried with the worn/weathered finish.  I am at work on #3 now and still experimenting and learning.

Thank you for the kind remarks folks.   God Bless,   Marc
