Wishes to inform the collecting community of the upcoming auction of Robert Blemker’s collection of Kentucky Rifles on Friday June 25th,  2021.
The auction will be held at 7:30 PM
The Blemker collection includes 36 Kentucky style rifles, one military pistol and several lots of parts, including tools,  old  barrels, and  several old incomplete stocks .  Auction items can be personally reviewed Friday the 25th in the adjacent lobby off the hotels main lobby from 2:00 PM until the auction starts.

It is important to note all items have legitimate estimate ranges and were reviewed by a select committee to determine an accurate value range, however, all items are sold with an “As is, where is” understanding.  Actual condition is best served by a hands-on review or the advice of a friend who has personally inspected the item selected. Terms: Items won at the time of the auction are expected to be paid for and removed by the end of the day. A 5% Buyer’s Premium will be added to the hammer price. Cash or check payment is expected before item is taken out of the auction room. The KRF is not accepting credit card payment at this auction.

Note: The auction will be held in a separated room off the main lobby extension of the hotel. The auction room and review area are open to the public. However,  only Kentucky Rifle Association members, in good standing, will be permitted entry to the KRA meeting room which is separate from the auction room.

In talking with a few other collectors here in Indiana who knew Bob Blemker and immediately questioned the name "Russ Blemker" on the modern rifles [Bob was also a builder and restorer], those rifles somehow got his first name goofed up, since they were made by Bob. 

Most of us who knew Bob well and talked guns with him have never seen some of these rifles. A few have come out at shows, but many are truly "fresh to the market." Bob most often brought decent rifles he had restored to the gun shows, and kept his good stuff in the proverbial closet. Shelby Gallien

How can you see pictures of the whole gun ? Do they allow phone bidding ? Thanks !

From what I understand all bidding will be live in person. You do not need to be  KRA member to attend or bid in the auction,  but you must be to enter the KRA display room.

Tanselman is right, the name on the contemporary rifle should be "Bob Blemker" not Russ. Bob was not only a collector but also a competent builder.

Gentlemen,    Phone bidding is not available at the KRF auction.    If you can't be in attendance, it is best you contact KRA, ALR or CLA member who will be.   That way you can have friend inspect your selection and bid for you.

There are no full length photos available, however, the photos provided can be expanded by following the instructions explained at top of gun photo page by Dennis.
