Tallbear, it looks much better in person. I have yet to get a good picture. The brass against the browned hardware does not photograph very well for me.

The orange scares the you know what out of me each time as well.  I will always remember the first time using it.  I thought I had destroyed a month of work and a $300 piece of wood.  Tured out great though so I wil keep using it.
Thanks for the compliments,
Ken

Nice work Ken! Those little character touches you've given it (brass tail lock, copper thimble,etc..) make it even more special. Really nice and I like the way your thinking by going outside the box by just a bit with those embellishments. Classy piece!!!

Ken,

Many have rightly complemented your work on that rifle. I'll gladly add "amen" to what has been written. That is a fine looking rifle.

Well, I said I would wait until after I got Miss Penny in my hands to gush over Ken's fine work.  While his fine pic's don't do her justice, that long A-weight barrel makes her so slim, and light to handle.  She balances like a dream.  That was last Monday, when I first got to hold her, and was hoping to have put powder, and ball through her, to give a range report.  But that's not going to happen for a while, because Tuesday night I started to have abdominal pains, but was planning to head North to Michigan for Thanksgiving with my kids, and new grandson.  Visited the ER on Wednesday morning on my way out of town, and here I sit today, after surgery for an abdominal obstruction.  I've had a good day today as I was allowed coffee, the only thing I've been allowed other than ice chips for six days.  The good thing is all the nurses down here sound like  Backwoods Barbie.  It'll probably be another three or four days before I'm let loose, and a few more before I can head back to Michigan, and put Miss Penny thru her paces.  Ken's work keeps getting better, and better.  At first I regretted that one I let LB, buy out from under me, but love is fickle, and Penny's my girl now.

Congrats on the gun Bill!!  Sorry to hear about the need for surgery......I guess they got you cleaned out and on the mend. Hope it doesn;t take long for you to be making smoke at the range.  Keep us informed.

We will keep you in our prayers.

Dang Bill. Sorry to hear of your problems.  I noticed you placing your hand on your stomach a couple of time while we talked.  I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a full and speedy recovery.
Thanks for the kind words about the gun. Looking forward to hearing how she shoots.

Glad you're getting better, Bill.  Hope the stay in the hospital
is short lived.....hmmm.....does this mean you MIGHT be bringing that skinny little gal down to Jasper County any time soon?  Cheers, Bookie
