last day of MN squirrel season
« on: February 28, 2023, 10:40:03 PM »
Nice day today, 32 degrees and sunny. Three shots, 2 squirrel, no idea how I missed the first one, it should have been an easy one. Took picture when I got home.
Kibler SMR in .36, 40 gr FFFg and .020" hoppes lubed patches.

Good shooting. Last day here in WI too, don't think I will get out though (darned work again).

2 for 3 not bad.  Those pines have weird bark I'm not familiar with. White Pine maybe? Here, we just have lodge pole pines & Poderosa further South.

The gun is leaning against a Red Pine, or Norway Pine as they are called here in MN. I have a few Eastern White Pine in the yard also, cannot see one in the picture though. Overall, on my 10 acres, I have 21 different naturally occurring tree species.

Yes - Red Pine - I'd forgotten about those. Had those in Northern Ontario, around Igance, South of Soux Lookout, on the TransCanada Highway.
Brings back memories. Tks.
