A Couple Of Bench Horns
« on: July 23, 2021, 03:42:50 PM »
Something a little different, these are made to set on a bench while shooting.
First Pic, the one on the left is about 10" tall and 2 1/2 at the base. Which is Maple and threaded 1/2-8. Three steel pins secure the band and hold the base in place. The tip was made by a member here, Jim Spray, it is 2 X 1" and is very well done. It is held on by three nails.
The horn on the right is about 11 1/2" and 2 3/4 at the base. It is Walnut also threaded 1/2-8 held by three pins that also hold the base band, the bottom band is also held by three pins. The tip was a TOW kit that Jim assembled for me it is held with three more pins.
Color is a dye bath and Brown paste wax.

Those are fascinating Tim. Love it.  How did you come up with that design?  Definitely creative.

This is where a "straight" horn shines. Nothing ergo about a bench.  Nice work.

Love ‘em…both concept and execution!  Looks like a “must have” for bench shooters!
