Belated Christmas - 2 Old Horns
« on: January 05, 2023, 06:19:58 PM »
Greetings All,

We had a merry little covid Christmas this year.  When we finally gathered together I was surprised with the gift of two old horns.  Supposedly, many years ago, they were found at a flea market in Southeast PA somewhere outside of Philadelphia.  Complete with cracks and some beetle damage - I still enjoy them greatly.

Paneled horn is about 12 inches on the outside curve.  The skinny-necked horn is about 13.25 inches on the outside curve.

Enjoy,
Kevin

Thanks for sharing. Those are right in my wheelhouse. Love good sized “everyman” horns.

Neat hons. Is the plug on the bottom one cut so the edge of the horn is coved? A little hard to see from the angle. Also are those Brass tacks/nails.

   Thanks, Tim

...........is that a drawer pull in the top one?

   Tim

Correct again.  It's slightly over 3/8ths of an inch in diameter.

I'm glad the photos are being enjoyed.

In revisiting this thread I realized that I failed to mention that the paneled horn has 9 panels.

Take Care everyone,
Kevin
