Mac's show seems to bring out some real gems. An eye opener for me was several Reading "fowlers". These were much more slender and light than the big, burly, early, Reading rifles that I actually look at. Several of these were present complete with rear sight and patchbox, but fowler guard and no cheekpiece!
Other gems were a very fine Mauger, John Bonewitz with apprentice Leonard Reedy, and a George Feder with the Bonewitz patchbox. John Armstrong was there with apprentices Wickham, and Nathaniel Rowe, and possibly another. There was also a Peter Troxel rifle present, and he would have been contemporary with Armstrong in Emmitsburg early in his career.
Another surprise was at least 10 Bedford rifles, which is more than I've seen at a show in years other than at the KRA.
