Jim Turpin has a really good DVD on wire inlay. You can get it through Primitive Arts Video. You might also check Amazon or any of the muzzleloading supply houses.

Hi....made the wire inlay chisels out of lengths of a  worn  hacksaw blade...2" lengths. The blades were soft enough to form some curved tips and the tapering of the  tips was done w/ a file. Mainly used the straight chisels but the curved ones were sometimes req'd. The ribbon w/ one edge filed into a knife edge is tapped into the groove w/ a length of RR dowel  and the   width should sit flush or nearly so  .... having to file  too much off results in a burr that's hard to remove. The chisel tip widths go as small as 1/16"  which I used to do some lesser curves. Good luck.....Fred
