Western Virginia Style Horn
« on: November 28, 2021, 08:37:20 PM »
It is about 14 1/2" around the outside curve not counting the finial or stopper and 11 tip-to-tip. The Walnut butt is hollowed out about 3/4s it's length and is held in place by 3 steel pins. The screw-tip tip is of two pieces of horn, the ring secured to the tip itself by three more pins. Threaded 5/8-11 to the horn. Color is Brown dye with shoe polish and brushed out.

I like it Tim.  Very clean and purposeful.  It reminds me of my pewter banded one.

Wow, that’s a doozy!  I’ll bet that one doesn’t hang around collecting dust in you shop…

Beautiful horn Tim, from spout to plug. You do some amazingly warm colors on your work.

That's a horn you can't keep from liking a lot and at first glance too.
