Best quality .32 cal cleaning jag/ramrod accessories?
« on: December 16, 2021, 11:37:24 PM »
Maybe there all the same? But I need a full set of ramrod implements to feed a New 32 cal Kibler southern mountain rifle. Things like cleaning jag, ball puller, fouling scraper and patch worm. If anyone has a favorite brand or vendor, I would like to hear about them. Thank you!

PS: I believe the Kibler ramrod is threaded 8-32 but if there is a superior set in 10-32 thread then I am not apposed to re thread my ramrod in 10-32

I don't believe the diameter of Jim K's ramrod tips is large enough to rethread to 10-32.

Ok, that is good to know, I do not have the kit in hand yet, thank you!

I’ve purchased all my 8-32 accessories from Track of The Wolf. Caliber specific and good quality. I also highly recommend getting one of their Creedmor range rods. Much more robust for cleaning chores and loading at the range. https://www.trackofthewolf.com/List/Item.aspx/834/1
And yes, the Kibler rod tip is 8-32.

www.trackofthewolf.com has 8x32 threaded jags and ball screws, which also work to remove a patch that comes off a jag. (IT happens)

Button jagged cleaning tip, .32 caliber, brass, 8-32 thread

I made this JAG for my .36, out of a 10x32 bolt. A poor man's lathe, 3/8" electric drill held in a bench vice, used with some files is all that is necessary.
It works perfectly.
An 8x32 threaded bolt would work just fine for your .32.
This jag has an 8x32 thread, made from a 10x32 bolt.

When you buy those tips, get the ones with steel threaded shanks. The brass ones just don't hold up for me.

Sorry to stir the settled pot, but hey I just got here. The "best quality" much depends on who you ask and how much you want to spend.

There are many good smiths of metal 'round here who make rod-tip accessories. I consider those top-of-the-line.

I don't have one yet, but I'm after one of those combo ball-puller/tow worm tips.  The tow worm I use now was hand-made too, but I forgot where I got it. Maybe some folks can remind us who those accoutrements makers are. Nothing against TOW but they don't make their own stuff. I try to go to the source.

If you get tow and to tow worm and learn to use it, there's no need for a jag.  Some of us prefer tow. I have no plans of ever using patches to clean with again.

If you never dry ball, there's no need for a ball puller.  :P ::)

It happens to everyone, eventually. (get a puller)  ;)

Member Dan Fruth is who you speak of. I have one of his combo tow worm ball pullers and it is exquisite. I believe he only offers the worm in .32.
