SMR stock inlay?
« on: December 31, 2021, 09:30:04 PM »
I want to make this rifle look a little different.  I added a steel banana patch box.  I like the idea of doing something behind the cheek piece on the left side of the stock.  On other schools of long rifles I would add some carving.   I don't see much carving on this type of southern rifles.  I was thinking of a man on the moon inlay instead of a scroll.    Was this done on these types of rifles?

Like this? Not unusual to see these sorts of inlays on the stock behind the cheekpiece.

Hi Scot,
Ignore the carving but here is a folksy pair of inlays that might give you some ideas.
