David Dodds Rifle on the Blog Spot
« on: October 13, 2009, 03:17:58 PM »
I don't think I've ever seen any of David Dodd's guns that I did not like.  The Baum influenced piece on Art's website today is one of my favorites.  I love seeing  work like this - that is based on the less-copied original pieces.

David is presently building another one for me. A Schroyer, we think.....my 8th by him! I agree. Never seen anything built by David that I didn't go into "heat" over ;D

It's great work and so close to the originals.  Love the patchbox catch mechanism, the engraving is just right.

Love his stuff. These little details and the knowledge and execution of style exibited in all his guns are for those who know what the real thing should be. Those who are interested in how many inlays, how much carving and how big the patchbox is for their dollar need not apply.
