A North Carolina Horn Finished Today
« on: October 28, 2009, 03:40:45 AM »
This is my first horn since coming out of "retirement". Cathy and I had a good hunting trip.

Not bad for an old retired dude. Maybe when I retire in 14 months I can learn to do that. ::)

Probably stained with the blood of God's helpless creatures you murdered!
That's just a super horn, you have the patina nailed dead on! I never met a Sibley horn I didn't like.

Carl, I have used blood before with interesting results.  Thank You all for the compliments.

Absolutely beautiful horn Scott.  Love the layout and style, and great finish on it.

I've used blood on a few of my projects from time to time as well, but not quite in the same way I'm thinking you meant.  My "dontations" were usually the result of an "oops" with a sharp tool!  ;)

Scott:

That is a great-looking horn. I have begun to cut back some of my antiquing, but this may change my mind. Great job!

Very nice horn. I don't blame you for coming out of "retirement". I retired in 2003 and soon couldn't understand how I got anything done around the house when I was working!!
