Horn W/Three Bands
« on: March 09, 2022, 04:28:23 PM »
11" around the outside curve and 9 1/2 tip-to-tip. The Walnut butt is hollowed out about 1/2 its length, it's 1 3/4" wide and is held in by the same three Steel pins that hold the base band on. The tip is of one piece of Whitetail antler and is held by three wood pegs. The other two bands were heated and pressed on then secured with three pins each. Color is Brown dye and Brown shoe polish. This horn was scraped, sanded and burnished with a piece of antler just to try the combination.
Woke up tp snow here this morning.

Nice work Tim. I really like your banded horns and this one is no exception.  Color is great to my eyes.

That is a "Banded Crosby" if I ever saw one!
