« on: April 10, 2022, 03:42:07 PM »
It is with regret that I inform you that Dutch Schoultz ,the well known and much liked and respected author of the book "Black Powder Rifle Accuracy",  passed on the 8th of April 2022 .

Dutch passed quietly and without pain at the age of 94 with his family at his side .

His Daughter Lynn will continue to sell his book .

I had the pleasure of talking to Dutch and Lynn last summer when I called to order his book.  They were both very pleasant to visit with!
May he rest in peace.

Despite what some feel about Dutch’s system of accuracy pertaining to the muzzle-loaded arms, he will be missed. He was a talented writer.

Did not know the gentleman but sounds like I would have enjoyed meeting him. May he rest in peace.

This is sad news. I was chatting with Dutch in late February. I’ll miss him.

His dry patch system worked and was very accurate if you were interested in competition shooting!
I probably have a few rolls of pillow ticking with the 6 to one recipe made in the 1990's...( don't have that gun anymore)

I purchased his book only a couple months ago, and got a very nice follow up email. I plan to use bear grease for hunting rather than his "dry" patch system, but wanted to compare both for accuracy.
I wish his family all the best as they deal with there loss.

I enjoyed his posts.  He had some good one liners.  My favorite was "we could have eliminated spelling errors forever if we had embraced ebonics".

RIP, Dutch.

Bought his system from Dutch years ago, and he was indeed very personable. He gave a lot to our avocation.
