It's beautiful, Tim. It has me re-thinking my choice of wood for a horn project of my own. So, you stained the cedar with brown shoe dye? That is exactly the color I was looking for in attempting to replicate an original horn. I have some cedar which would work.
Just for discussion's sake, I would consider that horn most appropriate for right-side carry, but there seems to be a trend now for folks to select horns with a twist opposite of the direction I would prefer. With that horn on the right side, the tip would be pointing up. If it were carried on the left side, the horn would have to be rotated somewhat to fit the wearer's body, and the tip would then be more horizontal.
