Got to meet a Kennedy today few have seen outside the family ever. Not my flavor but a GREAT rifle.

I only have a few photos, and these are the 2 best. It is indeed NOT for sale. The owner was a student of mine who brought it to me because of my interest and knowledge of these gems. Bill Ivey is the only other non family member of the family who has seen this rifle in recent times.
I will see if I can get better and more photos of it at some point.

It is a beautiful Kennedy rifle. I have sold seven of them very similar to Kennedy family members. I too would love to see additional photos.

Is the rifle signed on the barrel?

Nice to see a Kennedy, they were  an important and interesting type in the evolution of [update - I forgot where they were from, thought Wilkesboro but see that's not right] NC long rifles.

For those not from North Carolina, the Kennedy's did not work in Western North Carolina.  They were located in the Sandhills near Pinehurst in Moore County.  This was in the Southern Piedmont, 150 miles east of the Appalachian mountains.

The town they worked in was originally named "Mechanic's Hill." For a few years the name of the town was changed to "Hemp."  That town is today called "Robbins."

Local collectors often joke that if the Kennedy's were growing hemp, their neighbors, the Harper's were smoking it.  I've seen a few Harper rifles that make me think this was true.
