What weight is the .54 Cal Lyman 533-476?
« on: September 02, 2022, 03:40:30 PM »
I've searched almost (gotta be almost....but I still can't find the answer) everywhere to find out what the bullet weight of an all lead .54 Cal Lyman 533-476 mold drops?

I can find these for sale....but the bullet weight is not listed. Maybe it's just me, but don't you wanna know what the bullet weight is before you buy it?

Anyway...my "old guy" complaint aside....I'm sure somebody here knows the secret answer to this?

Thanks much.

Dave

I think I read somewhere they were 410 gr. You could call TOW and ask, they list them for sale.

Thanks Gent's. Since my post I've found one other source of semi-reliable info that said the same. I'm going to put in an order at TOTW for a small batch of these along with some SPG lube.

Most of the guys who shoot in the N-SSA use olive oil and beeswax.  Likewise do the Long Range (1000 yard) shooters.  It's a proven BP bullet lube and easy to make.  Just have to get the right consistency so it doesn't melt in hot weather.
