Horn Makers roll call

Just read the welcome letter from the Horner's Guild, it stated how there were members scattered across the world. Just curious where everyone is located, I'm in North Alabama.

Art is not an object.  It is the excitement inspired by the object.

Well, I guess you could say I am a recovering horn maker.
I retired on 1/1/2020 after about 36 years of production.  Never kept track of how many, but my best guess is over 36,000 powder horns.
Most of the time was spent working in North Idaho, but moved to the Central California Coast in 2006.
For a time, I was in the HCH, but dropped out a while ago.

Well, if I only did 6 in a day, and I didn't work weekends, it would be 138 in a month.  And I tried to do 12 a day.
But, I did take weeks off during the year.  Counting travel time, Friendship amounted to two weeks twice a year, the SHOT show and other events took up maybe 4 weeks a year, then going to various rendezvous and such, plus personal vacations, yeah, I did get a lot of goof off time as well.  But when I worked, I worked a lot of hours.  Plus I made a lot of other stuff, brass ram rods, molded leather ball and shot flasks, brass primers, drop tubes, and the list goes on.  Never made a lot of money, but I sure got to travel around this country, that's for sure.

I am located in east central Georgia. I know its a ways in the future but Jim Parker Alabama Longrifle show is held second weekend of January at Joe Wheeler State Park. A number of guild members attend. TN show is held third weekend of April just north of Knoxville.

Thanks for reaching out Ron, I've met Jim at a local art show, he's already got me committed to going to his show. I hope to see you there.
