One piece nose cap.




Rounded channel for octagonal barrel. Both barrel tennon and RR thimbles go all the way through stock.














Barrel loops look like they could be soldered on.










Flint lock converted to percussion.




Note the sear engagement adjusting screw through tumbler just like the old Russ Hamm locks. This also acts as a hammer stop.


Small end ram rod tip threaded for tow worm.

I've seen another old gun barrel that had tenons put on that way.  There are two little feet that are shoved into raised cutouts on the barrel and staked down.  The one I saw was VERY professional looking, and surely it was done with some very good precision jigs and machinery.
