A local Horner had this for sale at the Fort:
Of what school, style, era etc. might this horn reflect, if any? Of what style of arm may it’s usage with be appropriate?

Generally, New England/New York. It would go well with fowlers or muskets or militia guns.

Would this horn be too fancy for a Schimmel style Lehigh barn rifle?

A large percentage of schimmel style longrifles are found in and around Berks County Pennsylvania. Most date post 1800. A plain small horn would go well if the schimmel gun is post 1800. No more than a “day horn” would be needed for a barn gun.
