I love a good story as much as I like fine accoutrements.  Well done indeed.  I love the "River Series".  That bag is especially good as it has a lot of character but is not crude by any means.  It's not easy to get "character" and "looking professionally made" in one package.

Thanks Rich...I appreciate the good words....

It is a fun series to research and plan as I make the set up for each new river and region...and then tie it all to the settlers and frontiersmen keeping in mind what sort of bag they were likely to carry when that region was settled...

Im planning to make about 2 dozen various bags for the set...and Im starting set # 7 right now...with solid plans for 8~12 after that...

Two dozen different sets should allow me to cover most of the variety seen in pouch sets over the years as the country was settled and the frontier faded...
thanks again.

Tim,

That's really nice work.  I like the narration on the blogspot too.  It provides context to the design and that's and added bonus.

Regards,

Mark

Really fine work, but more than that is the concept behind the series.

It reminds me of the single event that makes me wish I was young again.  My daughters took a combined history and literature course in high school which blended the usual dates/events/people of history with the literature of the era.  Brilliant!  I really wish such a class had been available in my day, much less to adults today.  Combining history and literature helped it all make more sense, brought the past more to life than anything I've ever encountered.

That's what your series does.  The gear by itself or the history by itself are pale, compared to the combination.  Hats off!

If you immortalize that set in a book, I'll be first in line to buy it!
