New knife finished
« on: December 17, 2022, 04:43:47 AM »
Well I’ve finally got around to finishing up some projects in the works with one being a mahogany pistol and the other being this Rifleman’s knife with a maple handle, wrought iron cross guard, pewter bolster, and brass end cap.

Nothing beats the feel of a handmade southern iron mounted flintlock on a cold frosty morning

I really like the knife Robert, if I did not own so many now I would be interested in buying it.

Thank y’all, I believe I’m going to make a sheath for it not sure what I want it to look like yet though. Mr. Dennis, you’ve got a few of my best pieces. Haha

Robert, I think this may be one of your finest knives, and that is saying a lot.  I definitely see the "Low Country School" styling and finishing.

I definitely like the curly maple handle, even better than the stag handles.  That maple selection is nice with the tight curl.  Nice staining job and finishing.

Your forge work on the blade and the guard work together nicely.

Well done sir.  Well done indeed.  I look forward to seeing the pistol and the new rifle in progress.

God Bless,   Marc
