Bending a Cast Brass Triggerguard

Got a TOW trigger guard for a Kentucky Flintlock Pistol that begs for some change in angle on the back strap.

Question?    Do I need to anneal this strap before trying to bend it?  ( I need about 1/4 to 3/8 inch of movement!)

Any tips, tricks will be appreciated!

You should bd able to bend it with out trouble if its truely brass. I once had a butt plate from track that i wanted to chablge the bend of the butt plate it was hard to bend so i anealed it. It came out of the quench with all kinds of cracks all over. Othe gun makers looked at the but plate and thought it was silica bronze. I ordered an additonal but plate fro them and it bent like butter. The only way to know is to try to do it. Good luck.

I just posted a topic on one method I just used for bending a cast German Silver trigger guard; ("Bending a Pistol Trigger Guard").  Brass would work with this method just as well.
