Single set trigger need a fly?

Does a single set trigger, the type that has a single trigger pushed forward to set. Is a fly in the lock tumbler needed? Thanks!

Of course. Any sett trigger needs a fly, as the sett trigger is a momentary contact.

Some set triggers will hold the sear up and must be set before the lock can be socked and this does include some single set types.

I believe you're right Mr  Roller, the spring holds the sear up until set. It's a RE Davis trigger from Track. Thanks

Having to set the trigger to put a lock on 1/2 cock is not good. So yes to be safe and function properly its needs a fly. You risk broken lock parts and/or accidental discharge otherwise

Hi,
The trigger bar or lever that you show should be ground down until it no longer interferes with the sear when not set.  It will pop up when set and fired hitting the sear momentarily but it should not exert pressure on the sear when not set.
