When I finish a rifle, I usually make two ramrods for it, one striped and one stained solid. I think of the old commercial jingle “Sometimes you feel like a stripe, sometimes you don’t!” It gives the user the freedom to use whatever suits his taste, and he (she) can always carry a spare, in case he breaks one and wants to keep shooting.
