Source for wood
« on: March 13, 2023, 06:35:14 PM »
My normal source for gunstock wood has no inventory these days, and doesn't expect any soon.

So I would like to find an additional source for wood.  Thank you all.

Red Maple and Sugar Maple with good figure throughout.  My rifles generally have a 44" barrel and a 3 1/2" drop to heel.  I use Red Maple mostly, and Red Maple is what I'm looking for at the moment.  Thanks.

Try Allen Martin here. Every now and then he has some with nice figure.

If you can't cut your own stock wood, I would suggest your local sawmills.Good hard maple can be had at very reasonable prices.
