The merits of this gun are obvious to all. The museum proudly presents a gun which has generated much debate, however. As it is unsigned , all that is offered about the gun is "opinion." Please read it carefully for its educational value, which is the primary goal of our efforts here.
A significant "thank you" and applause must be made to the owner. Upon review of the gun by the Library Committee, various opinions were expressed. The owner, as is our policy, was informed of the debate exactly as it was offered. The owner, then, requested that the gun be exhibited with the commentary of the Committee.
Library Committee Policy: Before a gun is exhibited, any comments and opinions that are expressed and that could have a negative impact on the gun, are first presented to the owner of the gun. The owner then has the right to withdraw the gun with all comments kept confidential or offer the gun for exhibit
with ALL of the unedited comments made
about the gun.
