Haversack progress.

So after making my son's bag I decided to make myself a leather and cloth haversack to take hunting with my Fowler. This is my progress so far. Open to advice and criticism.

I have some cotton webbing coming im going to put leather end on it and a forged buckle.]

Why do we keep insisting on calling shooting bags haversacks? Haversacks were for provisions.
