How hard is pewter?

I refer to my last post on cerrocast alloy for nose caps. I made a mistake .
In norwegian we call both Tin(the element Sn) and pewter(a tin alloy) for tinn.
The brinell hardness of the element tin = 3.9
According to a website www.neymetals.com the brinell hardness of their pewter alloys is between 18 to 25.

In other words, it seems cerro alloys are no harder than pewter.
Does anyone else have inf on the hardness of pewter alloys?

No info from me.

But when I try to bend a cerro cast, it just snaps. Pewter can be tied in a knot.

So it depends what you will use it for.

You can also cast silver if pewter is not hard enough. But that will need to be modeled oversized in wax and then cast, and then fitted to the gun. Pewter can be cast right onto the gun.
