George Washington Replica 1976 Pistols
« on: March 20, 2023, 04:53:45 PM »
Wasn't someone on here looking for information on these?  I did a search and could not find it.  I was given an original brochure and thought I would scan and share the information.   God Bless,   Marc

Marc, I’ve picked up a set of pistols without any paperwork and would like to have a copy of that.

The $3,500 price in 1976 equals $18,505.10 today.  Not inexpensive.  I wonder if they produced and sold the stated total?

They come up for auction pretty regularly and usually bring somewhere between $1,800 and $3,000, but I've seen a few pairs squeak by lower even, especially if they aren't near new.
I am the Lead Historian/Firearms Specialist at Rock Island Auction Co., but I am here out of my own personal interests in muzzle loading and history.

I remember those when they were new. At the time (I was 25 in '76) a good pair of real silver mounted 18th century cold be had for that price or less and I just couldn't imagine who would rather have a copy than the real thing.

I had a pair for a while. They were pretty sweet. Well made, and nice to hold and admire. I bought them in 2014 I think for $2000 and sold them a few years later for $2500
