Coolest Barn Gun by Jack Duprey
« on: July 01, 2023, 02:07:34 PM »
Hello,

Posting this for my friend Jack with his permission. Jack showed me a new barn gun he recently made. A nice light weight gun. What really caught my eye was the sheep shear scissors he used for the trigger guard. He also added a back piece made from cow horn and made a "speed loader" under the front of the guard so you always have one "in the chamber". Also note the carving for the side plate.

I thought this was really neat and asked Jack if I could share some of his work.

Regards,

Doug

Jack has many friends and I'm proud to be one of them! I own a couple of rifles made by Jack and they are in the never sell category of my collection.

This barn gun is a completely believable and looks like it was just found in an old barn. I like the one of a kind features like the incised carved side plate and especially the trigger guard. One in the chamber wow!  ;D

Would love to see more pictures including at least one full side view and more details like caliber barrel length etc.

Jack did it again!!

For a fellow that is in his 80s...he can sure build a gun and fast too...!If I'm not mistaken I believe Jack had this one at the Tennessee Show in April..IIRC..... Ole Jack has away of adding the unusual character to his guns.... Which makes them all one of a kind....
