Concave surfaces final prep

Final surface prep and wiskering of concave areas on my stocks continues to be frustrating. I've used various riffling files, sanding sticks, India stones, even small bits of sandpaper...still not satisfied.

Images of tool/techniques in reply or even old dialogue strings if anyone knows of would be appreciated.

Sometimes burnishing with a piece of ramrod does wonders, doing so compresses the wood fibers

220 sandpaper and your hand, avoid rounding off defined areas.

Large and small curved scrapers work very well.

I like to use maroon Scotchbrite.  I even use it to apply oil during the finishing process.  It does two jobs;  getting the oil into the wood, and smoothing out any whiskers that might still be present.

It could also be thay you are dealing with end grain depending on where you are working on the surface.
