Maslin, or maybe CVA - sear spring
« on: December 13, 2009, 02:58:08 AM »
I need a frizzen spring sorry! sear bar spring, for what looks like a Maslin percussion lock but it has Spain stamped on the inside of the lock plate. I think maybe a Russ Hamm or CVA percussion lock may work. The lock looks very similar to the flint discussed in this post:

Anyone have one they will sell or know where I can find one?

Dennis

Dennis,
I'm pretty sure I have one but I can't look for it until Tues, send me a pm or an e-mail or both to remind me, if I have one you can have it, the only question I have is where is the frizzen spring on a percussion lock> :)

No this is a flat spring that is bent into a vee shape. Probably can make one out of a piece of steel strapping but its so small that I probably would break 2 or three before I got one right. Thought maybe someone might have one. Here is what it looks like only I need one in one piece ;D Its only about 5/8 inch long.

Dennis,
I may have a sear spring also, I'll look for it on Tues, if I have one you can have it. You may want to pm me or e-mail me so I remember to look for it. I'll leave myself a note, too many irons in the fire!!

Dennis if you can't find one send your two pieces to me and I'll make one for you. They are pretty easy to make if you have the equipment to do it.

Place a little blob of plastic wood in the joint, and you're back in bizness.

Thanks Brian, I made one from metal strapping but its too strong and also also too large. I didn't have anything any thinner.

Plus I found one and its on the way.

Thanks
