Used to be a guy on ebay selling 25-30 lbs boxes of Texas/Oklahoma Chert. I don't do ebay, but had one of my Sons order me a box several years ago. It was all good Chert. Try Track or Muzzleloaders Supply for the spring steel.

Yip: How much spring steel do you need? I have some 1084 1/8 thick X 1"wide X 12" long. It is annealed now so you can cut it to the dimension that you want. Let me know, Hugh Toenjes
