I am looking for Pic's. of pewter nosecaps.
I am looking for some ideas for my mule ear rifle thanks for any help you can give me.

Sorry no close up.

I under cut the barrel channel as well so that the metal is poured over the projection with a perforation or two. Done this way the part is less likely to loosen under recoil. Not much of a problem with light caliber round ball rifles but pistols or rifles generating a lot of inertia during recoil can pull the cap loose. The 1974 Sharps is bad for this since it does not have a rib to support the cap.

Nice pistol Dan.

You mentioned '74 Sharps nose caps-I followed the instructions you had in an article in BPC News long ago when I stocked my barreled action from C. Sharps. It's been on there 10 years now and no sign of getting loose.

Here are three poured nose caps. the first is a recent post - sorry can't remember whose great work. The second two are on Hawken rifle and pistol. Ken and Dan -yours are great!!
