1827 powder horn

Bought this as a senior in hs 1973-4.  Gave $50 for it.  Dad thought I was crazy.

The carving does not look anything like 1827-era horn carving to me; rather, it looks a lot more modern.

 Unfortunately it looks to me like it was done with a wood burning tool and from the clean hole in the spout It doesn't look like any powder ever went through it.

Antique or modern...still a cool horn.
And... It *is* about 50 years old. (Half-antique?)
Looks like a nice "carrying" size and shape. I particularly like the braided rawhide carrying cord.

Cool horn! Doesn't being 25 years old make it an antique?
