muzzle cap question.

Anyone know where I can get a muzzle cap like the following? It seems more slim and round than most production caps I've seen. And it doesn't seem to stick so far out on the sides like others I've seen.Toyed with making my own but not sure if I could pull it off.

Maybe Kiblers. Or make your own. It would depend on your barrel size at the muzzle cap.

May try making my own. This one seems to not have a groove in the bottom either.

Check this out. Not all caps had the RR grove in them.

Don't be afraid to try making your own muzzlecap. I just made one for an India Pattern Bess I restocked.
I followed this tutorial:

I screwed up my first attempt, but my second try turned out perfectly. It was surprisingly easy. I built a paper template first to get the dimensions close to where they needed to be.

They aren't hard to make.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

Looking at the photo again it looks like there Is no cap on it simply wrapped around.

Muzzle caps are pretty easy to make. Make sure you start with annealed brass, and anneal again when needed. I make mine from .040, but you could probably use .030 just as well.
