Built Rifles For My Grandsons
« on: February 21, 2024, 08:09:40 PM »
Built rifles out of black walnut. One rifle has brass furniture, and the other rifle is German silver. Since the rifles were so small, I had to fabricate both patch boxes from scratch. I built both rifles at the same time. They are .50 caliber. Presented them to the boys at Christmas. This makes them now family heirlooms.

Hello Hoot -- I remember you and Steve Bookout building rifles way back when. Do you and Steve still get together? You both did some very nice work ;). These two smaller rifles are VERY nice. ;)

You've got some neat grandkids.  Maybe I should be doing this for some of my great-grandkids.

Amazing.
Could you photograph them together with a full size rifle for comparison?

Nice rifles. Also, what a thoughtful gift for them. I make leather hunting pouches. I have made one for relatives. Take care. Jerry
