ID "Original" 1763 French Pistol
« on: April 14, 2024, 05:43:56 PM »
Received in an auction. Seller designated as an original French 1763 Libreville. 69 cal. 9" Smoothbore. Action is crisp and works. But don't think I want to fire it.

Your opinion?

People either survive in the Jungle, or exist in the Zoo. Few recognize the significance of the paradoxical reconciliation of the two. It takes a rare individual who understands how cunning and aggressive one has to be to acquire an Estate in the Jungle.

Looks like the wrong hammer on it.  Otherwise it should be shootable. That's not how the French hammers were made

I’m curious why it has such a huge barrel band. Looks like they took it off a musket!
