Colonial with a Moravian influence
« on: May 04, 2024, 03:42:51 AM »
I just finished up this Colonial build for a customer. He wanted a Moravian feel to the carving and stock architecture so I modified the comb, wrist and check rest to give the Colonial these qualities. I think it turned out  pretty nice. Thanks again to Jim and his gang for their hard work and I hope he finds what I did acceptable. Let me know what you think.

I've heard it said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so these photos are going into my "best stolen ideas" file for a future project. I'm very grateful to Jim for allowing me to learn from him, and for being the kind of friend that we all need.

Very well done.  Between the carving and engraving you captured the Moravian feel nicely.

If he does not find it acceptable I know where it can find a loving home. Fine work Jim!

Well the Moravian went home with its new owner today. Drew was well pleased with the rifle and is on his way back home with it. Always a relief when you see the big grin on the customers face.

Thanks for all the comments from everyone. On to the next project :)
