Pewter Powder Flask: Antique or Contemporary?

I recently happened upon this pewter powder flask. Has anyone come across these before? If so, do you have any idea whether they’re a 19th Century antique or contemporary accoutrement? There’s a lot of contradictory information online: some folks suggest it’s late 1800’s, others as late as the 1960’s.

The artwork looks modern, and I don’t think any of the old timers would have made a flask with a pewter lever, or spout.

Thanks for chiming in, guys. I’d be curious to know what their history is (ie. who produced them and when). Can’t help but wonder if it’s a novelty item of some sort or if it was actually intended to dispense powder.

The spout shut-off lever looks like a bad cast.
Check the mounting screws holding the spout lever spring. That might give you a clue as to age.
Nonetheless it’s a nice flask.

If you do a search online, you'll find dozens of the exact same flask, just with different decorations. Likely from India, who build a lot of fake brass items too.

Definitely a flower child from the 60s. 1960s, that is.
