Royland Southgate help
«

I just acquired my first Royland Southgate rifle. I’d like to know where to look for the number. It bears what I’m told is the stamp he used on his later guns.
Any and all help deeply appreciated.

Roland normally stamped his #'s on the top flat at the breach and his name was on the lock and top barrel flat. The stamp was in script lettering.

Thank you. I’ve found wher it was, it apparently it was polished away during an older refinishing. I can see that it was there, but it’s not legible.

You might try some different light sources (sunlight, incandescent, or black light, etc) at a sharp angle and higher magnification, to try and make it out.
